We had to double check our calendars to be sure it wasn't april fools already, but, no this is apparently real: a watch that charges your phone while you, er, 'charge yourself'.
The concept, called the W**kband, comes from adult content site Pornhub, who are apparently worried about the damage to the environment being caused by all the power our computers are sucking up while we're 'scratching our itches'.

Their solution: a watch-shaped device that charges a battery whenever it's moved up and down - when you're brushing your teeth, for example.
Not only is this good for the planet, but it gives you a handy excuse if you're caught making your own fun.
While this looks quite a lot like a publicity stunt, the science behind it does basically make sense - although it won't generate huge amounts of power. You might do yourself the wrong sort of mischief trying to get your phone's battery to 100%.

Just remember to take it off when you're in public: this is one gadget that's even more embarrassing to be seen in than google specs

.. But seriously .. don't lol

A "friend" of mine said it "may" give you virus >_>

Those diffusers on the GN lights made me wonder if anyone has tried using light diffuser sheets on the glass fronted Chinese panels a lot of us use?

From what I can gather something like 3mm prismatic acrylic would do a great job of mixing the colours, the downsides being roughly a 10% loss of lumens and a greater degree of beam angle.

If nobody has then I think I'll give it a whirl on the old panel I fitted silent fans to, it'll look like I'm trying to make a knock off of those HS1's but might just make the panel a little bit more tender on seedlings!

Wonder how long a day I would have to spend in the Mastabatorium to power my grow rooms lol.

Hey Bilbo, I've been using a sheet of photography light diffusion plastic over the glass of my Mars II to prevent light burn. It's just an opaque white material. I don't know if it mixes the light but it softens it a bit.

I gasp to think of all of the power I've wasted.
