This technique probably lends itself to tomatoes more being that they are a vine fruit b ut you should definitely give it a go and see how it goes.
I'd do it outside and let the sun shine on it, indoors may be a little more of a pain in the arse.

I'v always wanted to plant weed in the top of a dead tree and make it look like it's alive again.No ones expecting weed plants to be up a tree.

Of course I'm not the first person to think of this as the following vids show.

In the 18-20% alcohol range. Not prison hooch at all!(doubt they have gallon jugs and balloons in gen pop!) Mead is the oldest fermented alcohol know to man! Predates beer and wine by 30,000 years!
