That was the most common method I saw on Google @Ripper so I'm sure it works, I'd think it'd kill microbes too though.

@trailanimal Ceylon cinnamon is loaded with antibacterial and antifungal properties. It kills the fungus/ bacteria the gnats eat and also that cause damping off
