thanks Mossy; kindness is always a winner. I see Louis Prima's version of bring me sunshine was 2nd on the list. now that guy knew how to have fun!

at the moment until the babies get established, they're running 24/7.
When they tell me they're settled, I'll go to either 20/4, 19/5 or 18/6.

I've already decided that the lights off period will be when the sun is at its hottest.
That will be late afternoon/early evening here. Which also coincides with peak time for power, so the most economic too.

Having said that, having to run air-con 24/7 is going to be growing the electricity bill exponentially anyway.
So REALLY need to get a handle on this, pronto.

I live in what is one of the hottest places in America thats very much like Spain.. I run my lamps From 6PM until 12PM all through the night.. this drops 10 degree off just from that.. 18 6 is what i use..the 6 hours off would be from 12PM until 6PM.. shops closed!! This is also the time humans are more active an could come to your door so there are important reasons for the 18 6 auto light schedule.. Also your soil temps and plants temps are going to drop in this off time..

I hear ya.

Going from that, I'd be tempted to run lights OFF between 3pm and 9pm.
Pretty much an extended siesta.
It's weird here - there's a kind of temp inversion, and the hottest part of the day is very often the evening, after the sun has been at its highest.
Not uncommon for outside temps to be 30 at 2pm and then 35 at 7pm when the sun is waning.

yea man give that a try!! understand your doing this because its June/July..when its cools back down you can just go back to normal.. you have to change with nature for the best crops for that time.
