Exactly...there were only three channels. So nothing much on, so we kids all WENT OUT AND PLAYED (in those days). *insert my old man speech here*
I see how easily and quickly my nephew and kids his age get bored and just remember when I was a kid. Middle of the day during the summer there was nothing on TV and playing video games required quarters and a ride to the mall. So we went out and ran around with all the other kids in the neighborhood(s). As a result, I swear you could have taken a small group of us and locked us in a room with nothing but a small pile of sticks for a few hours and within a few minutes we would have invented a game to play with the sticks to keep ourselves amused. Granted, though, it would probably have been something like trying to throw, hit, or other wise smack each other with the sticks. We were creative, but did have our violent streaks. :smoking:
