Most of Canada still switches. Our province made it optional to individual municipalities in 1966, which was a real shit show. Nowadays without some major monitoring parents have no idea if their kids are the angry online troll normal society hates!
I have two boys, 9 and 16, and me and their mother like to think we are very involved in our kids lives. They both just made honor roll, they dont go to public schools and they are always enrolled and participating in extracurricular activities, soccer, basketball, jiu jitsu, judo, muay thai etc. they have both been in martial arts from a young age 3 and 4, and their instructors have always preached the importance of respect and the pointlessness of all that tough guy shit. And we heavily monitor their social media as well! Even then we constantly find ourselves telling them to change the video because it’s inappropriate!
