Saying that... hubbys mother was born in 1918...just over 100 years ago....and she was sent from home to work in a posh estate at 11 years old.
She was a maid.
She had to light all the fires in the house before anyone got up....and iron...and she got 1 day a month off to go see her family.
Look at your 11 year old now and think how the hell they would cope with that.......
And...she was the youngest of 14 children who survived childhood...her mother had 18 pregnancies......pre the contraceptive pill huh......
