White gravy is not a real thing...........:peek:...if it is white..it is sauce........:yeah:...
Oh yes it is! Its a staple in the south! Made with bacon grease its mmm mmm good! If u served chicken fried steak or biscuits and gravy and u used brown gravy you would probably get deported from Texas! They would send u to somewhere far far away…. somewhere like Nebraska! :yeah::crying:

It takes forever here! If u were broke and in desperate need of it u would be homeless and starved to death long before they got u sorted!

Aye...I was going to say..the world over with that.... :headbang: ...it stinks.

:redcard: :nono: :haha:

You need a proper sawmill gravy over country fried steak! Where Bill is, it's super popular. Good stuff!!! Especially for hangovers and a nap

:pighug: Usually we have proper Brown onion gravy with it.....but every now and then you gotta use the salad up...........

It is funny isn't it....?.......:d5:...we do do white sauces too.....I'm partial to mushroom or peppercorn....cream in the pan with the steak juices/seasoning little bit of beef stock...but hubby isn't keen on cream sauces.

Mind..he didn't like cheese sauce either...until he tasted mine.

His mother severely limited his palette....:pighug:...if she didn't buy it he didn't like it.......

Ya white grave u use bunch of bacon grease (sausage works fine too) plus flour milk salt pepper! Super easy to make so i get super pissed when i go somewhere thats supposed to have good chicken fried steak and u can tell they use premade gravy! That stuff is trash! Its all liquidy and thin af vs homemade being a nice thick fluffy texture if u cook it long enough!

Because we are gluten free I make all my own stocks and gravy coz most ready made have flour in.

If I need to thicken anything I use cornflour...... :chef: ....tastes as good......

Well, back in hospital,
I'm starting to think you have a thing for nurses in uniform.....

DiL and her boyfriend are going to declutter my room to make it easier on me to move around.
Good thing they can help!

I remember in '82 having to put everything in the living room so I could put a hospital bed with trapeze in the dining room and still have room for my clunky rented wheelchair to get around. good thing my dad lived nearby to help. I lived that way for over a year before I started to learn to walk again.
