I want to go deep sea fishing when the season opens in April. I recon it has been over 20 years since I had a rod in my hands. I was looking at my old rods and reels, they belong in a museum New gear is not that expensive in a high performance range of rods and reels. The biggest problem is there is two major different styles of fishing, Deep and Shallow. When you go deep you use a 1# weight and crank that baby back up from as far as 400 feet below. That is a lot of work and takes a heavy rod and reel that is stiff without a lot of finesse or feel. If the boat allows smaller weights it is more fun but boat tangles are a huge issue fishing that deep. This is where you fill your meat bag though. Then there is shallow <150 feet and you can use much lighter tackle and this is where my favorite fish hangs out, the California Halibut. You will catch more on a longer lighter rod that is sensitive to a timid bite. So I need Two new rigs.
Good grief hooks and swimbaits have become expensive.

@Fermented_Fruitz for just a few dollars you can share a couch and watch tv with a pound of bacon to kinda ease in to the little pig ownership idea. Remember you can eat either of them when done with them.
I thought I was sick last week now I am forsure sick this week felt it coming on yesterday. Woke in the middle of the night in pool of sweat and shivering feel like I was run over by a truck. @Fermented_Fruitz those “mini” pigs don’t stay mini. A guy I worked with bought one and kept it about 5 years. Don’t know how big he got but Kevin had to call 3 friends to come over and help him load the pig every few months for hoove trimming at the vet.
The pig got so big Kevin had to get rid of it.
No one wanted a giant house pig so Kevin called animal rescues and none would take it.
Finally he offered an animal rescue place $2k
And they accepted.
Their hair feels like a wire brush when they get older and they’ll bite your ass!
Sum bitches are cute though. Lol
Ya depends on the size of the parents i imagine! 40-80lbs is bigger than i would want tho! He would start looking tasty at around 25lbs! Why from the very beginning of my posts i asked if anyone knew where i could get a tiny pig that would stay a tiny pig forever! They are cute when they can fit in your pocket but I don’t want no pit bull sized shitting machine in my house!

That also says 14”-19” tall but the little one i was looking at said 10-12” tall full grown! Still about 3x the size i would want it to grow so no go on the pet pig! I’ll stick to them in gif form!
