Have you seen the price comparison surveys on US prescription drugs compared to the UK......?........we had a couple when there were rumours about a US company taking on the National health service...
Obviously..they pick the worst to show/scare you...but some of the stuff was 60 times what we pay in Europe.........

Probably paying for all the adverts....

Why politics here is so lame! Current administration set it up where medicaid could negotiate drug prices (still way too expensive) but at least helps lower the cost but because of who started the policy its gotta be evil! Even insulin was several hundred per shot because a drug manufacturer could just set their own price and either u paid it or you died but no recourse on cost! Companies coming in buying a drug manufacturer that has a single drug thats not a big seller but jacking up the cost so high the one drug becomes a huge financial windfall for the maker!
