Even the transients are homeless growing in my town.

Since when did we start calling hobos transients? They push that down our throats here in Los Angeles but we all still call em bums!

Didn’t want to offend any bleeding hearts here so went with transients. In my region they are called house less by the radical left. Society dropouts is closer to reality."Transients"

Results are more related to the amount of light, and distribution of it in the canopy that it is to the spectrum, IMO. Spectrum seems to affect plant morphology somewhat, but I think most growers would be better off sorting their PPFD/DLI than worrying about spectrum. I believe that Dr. Bugbee has stated as much, but I can't recall where, and don't have time to dig. Perhaps someone else here does.Morning everyone! I guess I fell asleep around 11 based on where I left off scrolling. hah. thought i'd make it a little later.
Tried staying up due to the tornado watch here. Plenty of wind and really loud but I guess bong v tornado? Bong wins.
Came across an interesting article on Far Red lighting. Seeing lots of supplemental lights out there with far red, uv, etc... Pretty expensive add ons too. BUT! Don't waste your $$ :

DO NOT use Far Red for flowering weed
There is some evidence that adding some far red to the grow light spectrum will increase yield very slightly. However the corresponding reduction in cannabinoids and terpenes means a much lower quality of harvest in terms of potency and aroma.migrolight.com
The quickness:
Far Red does not promote flowering in Cannabis plants
This is a common misconception. A high proportion of far red in the grow light spectrum can cause long day plants to increase flower production. However medicinal herbs such as cannabis are short day plants and increasing far red does not effect the timing or rate of flowering.
Summary of the effects of far red on cannabis harvest and quality
There is some evidence that adding some far red to the grow light spectrum will increase yield very slightly. However the corresponding reduction in cannabinoids and terpenes means a much lower quality of harvest in terms of potency and aroma.
This demonstrates high Far red in the grow light spectrum does not produce a high quality harvest.
Yep, morphology changes. That migro article says you'll get tall lanky plants from the far red exposure and reduced potency. Results are more related to the amount of light, and distribution of it in the canopy that it is to the spectrum, IMO. I usually dont read articles by companies that sell the items they are promoting in said article. But…. I would have to see the experiments they did, how many times, all the outcomes etc. to be able to base an opinion for myself on something like that. The amounts added in grow lights are so small i dont think they have enough presence to have much affect besides adding to the ppfd lol i still havent seen enough scientific experiments to have an opinion either way. I have read some articles that say adding uv and ir will promote more color in senescence , promote bigger buds and increased resin production. But ive seen that said about so many products lol. I did find a couple articles that seemed to back up the color stuff, but any tests i came across the numbers were negligible unless you were entering a contest based on numbers alone.Morning everyone! I've gone back and forth on UV-B. The marketers say increased trichomes but there are plant effectors and stressors that do the same thing. Chitosal and defoliation for example.I usually dont read articles by companies that sell the items they are promoting in said article. But….
