It has been 50 years since they banned DDT. So it looks like some of the birds of prey are finally making a come back. We have a breeding pair of Red Tailed Hawks that successfully raised 3 chicks last year near us. I have already spotted one of last years juveniles.

I have a mamma hawk that built a nest in one of my pine trees. Here's the nest, I'm still trying to get a picture of her.

Thats awesome. For the last 5 years of bringing my kid to school. I been watching a family of eagles that have a nest right on the side of the road in an old dead tree. So cool seen a fee of there babies thru the years. I see hawks quite a bit in the summer. They like to hang out on telephone poles. Seen this little owl one day hunting scared the shit out of me.
