Thankfully my area is a bit outside of anywhere prone to tornadoes. Early 1900s was the last one we had above an ef-1, And all it did was rip off a church steeple. An ef-1 hit the private airport a few years back and flipped a few small aircraft...LOL! Tornadoes are an all the time thing here. Spring tends to be the worst time with fronts coming thru.
In Summer, tornadoes are generated from the thermal heating with enough Gulf moisture to form thunderstorms in the afternoon. Usually summer tornadoes are the most dangerous because the thunderstorms run into the night if they have enough thermal energy.. Night tornadoes are scary as hell. You hope for lightning to possibly outline the twister.
...Although I'm glued to the radar in the early summer if I feel like something's off with the way the air feels. I spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather is warm enough (above 32f lol) and don't really like the thought of being swept off to the land of Oz lol. Who'd have thought tornadoes and achondroplasiaphobia could go hand in hand lmfao
