@WildBill :toke: I don't hunt. BUT if they close the supermarkets. i do know how. i am a meat eater.
and know the game trails. these are survival teachings, another reason to live in the woods. View attachment 1295975this is my backyard. there are 16 deer in this picture, i have followed this heard to learn it's movement. just in case.
Those look like oak trees ? acorns are a preferred food for wildlife. whitetail venison is my preferred protein. Always nice to see them around for entertainment. Just because I hunt does not mean that I don't care about them I do

Got all my soil amendments...I'm almost halfway through mixing up my soil, should have it done today. Then it gets to sleep a couple months till Spring really arrives :cooldance:

Here's one of mine cooking. from a couple weeks ago. The mat has really thickened up since.

I had LOTS of several species of oak trees.......some very old HUGE Red Oaks. I planted Mexican Plums, assorted berries and winter cover crops around the creek for a couple of miles. I planted feed turnips for a few years as winter food for them and building organic matter in the soil.
My Freddy, the Brittany Spaniel, kept the fuggers out of the garden. They LOVED purple hull and crowder peas.

Nice growth.:d5:..Looking forward to seeing that on mine. I may have to introduce some mycorrizae
I threw in some bokoshi and wet it down with some EM1. I have a couple of glass jugs coming to make activated EM1 and some interesting extractions. The first extraction is going to be insect frass.

Bokashi's good stuff, didn't have it this time. I'll seed my totes with ground malted barley and a couple different myco products.

I think people underestimate malted barley. I "malt" it myself and make a slurry and feed it to my worms. Naturally it works well as an SST. I have no idea if the hormones last by feeding the worms, but it does present it to the plants in a different form.
I feed alfalfa to my worms also, usually mixed with canna defol............all mixed in a blender. The worms love that too.
I wish I still had my chain harrow. I'd prep my back yard and plant a vetch and alfalfa mix. It would help this crappy soil in the back yard and give me some good stuff the feed the worms and add to my media. I'll probally do that this fall and add LBon Rye as a winter cover crop.

Yep, malted barley is a big one. I put 3 cups in per 15 gallon batch.I like to put some in a bucket with water and let it get foamy for a feed.
There's not much in the way of soil here, so I've just got the container soil to work with. It's weird ordering cow crap through mail lol. Worm castings too. We make some and each tote gets a measure but I also add some store-bought because I like to put in lots.

Thanks for the Rep! I plan to have a busy one. It will be a much better one with the Mars light contest over and settled..............well settled for me. I expect Boss Hobbes to lend his prospective to the matter.
