It will definitely happen when it's time then, hopefully sooner then later, that's how it was for me, seems things like that have a way of finding their way back to you when it's time. Also who was your other influence? Bonham? I've seen you post some Rip to him and he was a monster. Giant groove factor.
My list of complaints may be a little different, as is my life experience. But yep it's a mess out there. Corporate interests make it hard for politicians to do right. The natural world is always in the crosshairs. I don't see much hope for straightening that out. I've cut back on my news consumption too...I don't think we're wired for so much sorrow and woe, at least I'm not.Love that show!
I get ya! I'd been up there for decades now if I hadn't made a promise to my Dad to take care of my Mom. I just made the best of what I could with my obligations. That's why I bought a farm. It was my place of solitude. My farm helped me deal with corporate America and all that crap that comes with it. With the time I spent in the military, I became VERY appreciative of solitude and privacy and my farm afforded me that. Far too often, "people" just complicates life, a lot of times just plain needlessly. It's not that I'm antisocial, at least I don't think so, it's just that I have little patience with stupidity. Society has changed vastly since "the buzzards laid me, the sun hatched me and Dad found me under a rock"! ....one of Dad's sayings.
Some changes have been quite good. Other changes are just plain ass stupid and highly illogical. The increase of Governmental intrusion into the individual's day to day life has never set well with me. It's only increased in my adult lifetime. The sad thing is that far too many people are just fine with other people "in charge" making decisions that affects their lives. They don't know or appreciate the aspect of self-reliance and the independence it affords. In troubled times of their lives, instead of looking inwards for the solution, they look to "Big Brother" to dig them out. Self-reliance is not, for the most part, taught by parents and most assuredly not in the school system. The same can be said for independent thought and learning to draw your own conclusion based on facts and the evidence before you. Schools teach advancement tests for the most part. I was horrified by the lesson plan I saw for my granddaughter. If the student questions the smallest part in what the school system spews to those minds of mush, they are ridiculed and persecuted
.
This fucking Chinese made pandemic has made all the problems I see with what wrong with the world's society far more prominent in my mind. Individuals in charge making choices and spewing edicts that affects our lives and has killed many, when the bastards are mainly proceeding with things they pull out of their collective asses..........and then change it the next fucking week! No accountability when they screw up and cause strife and death. When the politicians begin to make LOGICAL decisions based on what's ACTUALLY best for the people and not for the Party, maintaining their power or any whiny ass ignorant special interests, this world could be far different.
I guess I'm glad I'm old. While someday humans and the society may evolve to something more equitable to the individual to let/help the individual achieve the most they can be without governmental intrusion into the next breath they take, the interim will be rocky. I really don't think the odds are very good for this to ever come true though. I'm just facing reality.
