Honestly a rip off i would rather grow in a stack and store box for better dimensions
and that CF is a joke could they not used a panel filter inside the box and its not good enough to push through a cf either

I could build a commercial system for that with a didgi ballast

I didn't pay £360 for the unit, I paid £260(is that still to much?)

To be honest though Mate its just to practice small grows till i move out in December and can start a decent size setup as i have very limited space right now, The only reason i brought it as my friend has had one for nearly a year and grew some lovely plants in there fine,

Until you move out so your putting some one else at risk awesome. If its a hydroponic i dont know why your asking soil questions if you've bought the hydro version if your mate has exp with them he would be the best guy for advice

also £260 is still a rip its a £20 light in a pc case with a pc fan you could for free from most scrap yards. Also its not stealth it has a whopping cf filter coming out the back so its not very stealth (defeats the point) also that cpu fan does not have enough pressure to push through a cf to do the job.

that cfl generate allot of heat so its not an ideal light system either put aside the fan cant even shift the heat. In essence its tosh with a £265 price tag and put together by a guy whos trying to cream as much money as poss and knows nothing about indoor growing environment

I dont no what you mean about putting someone else at risk? i am currently renting a 1 bed house until the house i just brought is ready to move in late november/december!!!

I plan on growing 1 hydro 1 soil in the future so got the hydro version! (my friend grows hydro not soil hence me asking for Soil information)

To be honest stealth is not needed where i am putting it, so the CF is not a problem,

in regards to the light system i cant say alot but The heat has never been a problem for my friend in his?

There's a big difference between scraping by an optimal like i said it not just heat its cf pressure and co2 exchange. It not even the height of summer yet
So if stealth is not the issue why are you not growing in a box with better dimensions and lighting/fans?

Dont ask for peoples thoughts if you dont want to hear them

So what lights would you have in a set up like this?

if you had to use a set up like this what would you suggest to make it better?

I have very limited space right now as im not in a large place so these dimensions are about all i can do and as i said a friend has had allot of success so i went for this setup,

or build this

some thing cool to the touch and would not burn plants. Think Ive already mentioned t5's or leds
Fan should be upped for back pressure. Some thing that can create pressure like a Centrifugal fan would be ideal.
and a infused carbon panel filter if you wanted to keep stealth

You could buy a large stack and store box with most of the work done and use this to germ seedlings in future grows
