I have a .8 x .8 x1.8 tent. is a 600w light too much for this??
what would anyone recommend. cheers

as long as you can keep temps in the right place no light is to much in my opinion :peace: also welcome to AFN sleepy im sure one of the pros will be here to answer your question a little better.

Cheers for the reply. Tents in my shed so u think this would be ok or should I change it for 400w light

All depends on where you are located!:D

A tent in a shed in Arizona is different to a tent in a shed in Alaska!

Some tents need active cooling during the day while others need heating, especially at night.

From my experience a 600W will overheat your tent.
I have two 400W HID in an 11X8 room and they heat that large space up to 30+ degrees C!
So i needed a portable AC unit to cool the room during lights on.

And with a proper reflector you should be good with 400W.
Go with 600W if you have all the correct equipment you will need.

:peace:

I'm in the Shropshire an it been snowing but now it's about 8 degrees. Gonna run my lamp over night when it's colder an off at mid day. Will this be ok with the 600 watt lamp? I'm a first time grower so all advise is welcome. Thanks :)

im running 24/0 at the moment because of the same issue
8c may cause damage

400w is plenty in there

Okay thanks for the info!

I take it it is 0.8mX0.8MX1.8M?
400Watts will be more than enough to cover that area.
Also the heat will be way less than 600Watts.

yes id go as far as to say a 400w is on the large side 600w is well OTT
yes based on the 0.8mx0.8m

thanks for your input lads.... :)

I'm thinking keep the 600w lamp cos of how cold it is outside but cooling the tent by way of one of the one of the draw string outlets at the top to let heat out with a mesh over it so nothing can get in. that way I could control the heat hopefully. a friend of mine reakons I need a 600w for when it flowers!

im just experimenting with this before I get anything growing in there

what do people think of this idea? appreciate the feedback.
