New Grower lighting schedule for seedlings

Proper and timely watering is essential for survival of your sprout. If your medium was moistened and a humidity dome over it , it shouldn't need anything but time. The best thing to grow with weed is patience.
I keep all my seedlings, autos and photos, under 24/0 t5 until sexed, then move to tent under 12/12 led.

Also be real careful leaving seedlings under humidity domes after their first set of true leaves. They damp off or become moldy very fast. Best to open them and give them some aire circulation as soon as you can after they are up.

Plants have a DLI of how much light they need before c02 becomes necessary and even that has a limit. A better option would be starting your seedlings at 14/10 and if you have lights with which PPFD then you could stay at 14/0 for veg and 12/12 for flower. The less efficient the light the more light in a given schedule you would need.

Lux isn't the most efficient way to measure but PPFD.

@krissuk clones and seedlings very little light until the vegetative period starts and it helps with root development and expansion. More roots more plant

Love this answer man, been studying DLI and PPF/PPFD a bit lately (even wrote a blurb on it.)

I've been obsessed with it for a few weeks now after finding out that my phone wasn't an adequate lux meter. To take it even further, par meters aren't the most reliable and spectrometer would be better. However this is like trying to afford a Grodan Moisture sensor and not feasible for the home grower.

Can you link the blurb please? I haven't satisfied my curiosity with LED lights yet lol. I think it would be great if HLG and these other manufacturers could provide all this information but that might be crossing a line.

The industry though has been great with a lot of information sharing to where we are learning together on a daily basis and ideas from three years ago are already being redefined.

thanx for your reply ill remove dome what about waterint do I just spray them or water soil thanx again

Just water the soil, and do this only when it starts to feel dry on top. If you overwater at this stage of a seedlings life you run the risks I mentioned. Don't spray until they have at least a couple sets of true leaves.

I wrote an article about DLI that could potentially simplify the process for everyone in here. The chart I made makes it super easy to choose between different combinations and figure out what suits your situation the best. Just a friendly tip! I hope one of you have use for it :)

Just remember, the biggest advantage autoflowers have over photos is the ability to use 20+ hours of lightning per day without worry of affecting the veg/bloom cycle.

Nobody growing autos under 14 hours of light is going to get the results of growing under 20-24 hours of light.

Intensity is much more critical to a seedling than schedule. I usually sprout and start seedlings under CFLs until they are 4-5 days old. I try to get them under main lighting as soon as I can though to take advantage of the short veg period.
