Understandable. I haven’t jumped into any of these battles yet except the triangle dragon and ALF#5 battle. Also I agree with blind votes but with weekly updates it would be hard to not know who’s plant is who’s.

Exactly, there is nothing wrong with friends and fans voting their favorite, that was part of the idea behind journaling in the competition. I remember the discussion, Pop22 might also but I may have the wrong Pop. The info is there for anyone who wants to follow it or look it up.but those who don't just had to make a choice and no surprise that the best plants usually won. I wasn't trying to be snarky or start crap. It was just a good policy then and still is. I never thought civil discussion would start a row. It never has. Apologies to anyone offended..especially those working to make these things work.

I voted in the most recent GOTY battles, solely on what I felt was the best plant. I’m new here and names mean nothing.

I wish more info had been available though — height of plant, and yield — isn’t that an important factor? I did the best I could with what I had.

That's a lot of plants if you get 100% germ. I'd like to know how your 3 Bears do. They are taking longer than the rest to germ.

From what I understand there's nothing stopping you from including something in the photo for scale, yard stick, 2L bottle, petite naked woman, ect. But that's only if you think the size of your plant is something that will bring in more votes.

Outside of a video post there's no way to really verify yield, and even then I'm sure you could cheat it, so including the weight is useless.

In the end it comes down to the plant and the photographer. And should some members get a few extra votes because they're AFN social butterflies, I see no problem with that, they earned it.

All that said my ladies are gonna be so f'ing sexy that I might have to use a mosaic for a few of my more "candid shots".....

Ok got you logged in.
Please provide me with the following info:
Grow Type: Soil or Hydro.
Nutrient Vendor: Just the Vendors not the products.
Your main type of light: Choose one from these 4 simple categories: COB, LED, HID, Fluorescent. Feel free to elaborate about your total lighting in a separate post; just not in this Update Post.

Thanks,

I feel strongly in both directions. I want the contest to be as fair as possible. A couple of things more important to me are Good sportsmanship, Having fun! and teaching the many methods of growing to everyone that visits this thread. Remember we are on a WORLD stage and hundreds if not thousands of potential new growers are watching and learning.

I personally would never consider the grower in a vote. The plants are all I ever look at. Heck it is hard enough to choose because they are often so close. I also understand how someone can want to vote for a friend.

I have some options open to me that I will present as the grow gets further down the road. In the mean time post your updates on time and post other tips and growing info in between.

Lets do battle:

Crap really?
As in burned them out and they are fried?
I was looking at the Sunblaster brand, and another brand sold at Vesey's in Canada. I have the Sunblaster individual single T5 lights, and a generic 2' 4 light box.
Yes, as in fried.
I know other people have had success, but mine were not compatible.
The LEDs were fine, it blew out the ballast...
