@Iriee Vibez how many plants under that light? They are so beautiful and full I cannot count them.:smokeit:
@Mañ'O'Green :bighug: Lighting Gladiators..........

@Dabber declared yesterday in the Big Battle that an All COB Rig will Win the first leg battle.......

Personally...I'm opting for mixed COB and LED's.....
(I'm outdoor and light tech blind...:crying:..don't all shout...)

So..what is the heavy betting on..

COB

LED

Mix

or another type of light all together...

What set up..or Who will win the first leg.....?....:eyebrows:

I ain't sure if this is classed as a led or a cob chopped in tiny bits ?View attachment 1018734

Ok, I'm wrong lol! We all learn something new.

here's the difference:

A chip on board LED is basically a LED chip diode built directly on the the circuit board. The chips are bonded directly into the PCB at the manufacturer. Without traditional LED packaging ( 5mm LED , 3528 , 5050 , 5630 , 5730 SMD LED ). A Samsung LM301b is closer to a traditional LED like the ones mentioned

OMG that is the reason we combined the battles because the lines get blurry. So @pop22 got it right in his last post Quantum Boards and the Mars light that @hairyman was asking about would fall in the LED category. We defined Cobs with at least 9 LEDs in the same package on a chip. The real problem is that there are now many commercial lights that use both COBs and LEDs in the same fixture. So here we are in the Light Battle. That Said, I have categorized them separately in my data and you can review the information go to threadmark ***Light and Medium Data ***

Happy Growing everyone!:vibe:

Have you seen those LED replacement bulbs for T5/T8 fixtures? Interesting stuff.
There are a lot of complaints about the LED replacement strips burning out the ballasts in the fixtures; so you want to make sure you have the proper fixture/ballast to run them.
