Day 40 Hubbabubbasmelloscope by Mephisto

Problem: Started around 2 weeks ago with yellowing in random spots on leafs, almost like fading green. Brown spots started appearing earlier this week and now the edges are yellowing. I added 1/2 cup kelp meal and 1/2 cup ewc as top dressing bout 8 days ago

Medium/grow method: Great Lakes Water Only Soil by Detroit Nutrient Company

Feed: and supplements used: 70ppm tap water at 6.5ph, I let sit for 48hrs. .5-.75 gal every 4-5 days once the pot is light and dry via hand

light used: 4x QB96 Elite v2 in 4x4x6 tent with the lights at 18'' above canopy. I raised them to 22''. From 50k lux to around 40k. 24/0 schedule

Climate: 70-80F with 40-60% RH

I dont have experience with LEDs, but 40k lux from HID is alot. I know its doable, but I have had burn at much lower values. If air-intake is cold you would normally want lower lux.
I am also thinking Potassium-deficiency is possible, it does not look like lightburn alone to me.
Good question you got there, hope you figure it out. Would appreciate an update!:goodluck:

I'm thinking potassium at this point too because she's getting worse even after raising/dimming the light. Hoping this kelp meal kicks in soon to get her further but can't complain for $10 worth of soil and water only lol. Still watering at 6.5, about .5-.75 gal every 5 days when she gets dry and light

My other girls are looking great at 50-60k lux and I pushed 70k in my last tent, so I really have no idea

I'll keep this updated but you can also see pics in my recent grow thread

If moveing the light didn't help, then I would lean more towards a potassium deficiency. But then again, this is my first time growing under a light. Hope you get it figured out.

This is not light burn.

Please fill in this form: (copy and paste part is below, this first one tell what specifically to include)

-Problem: (brief description)
-Medium/grow method: soil; soilless-- coco, or peat based like Promix, etc. (please provide the actual product name); DWC, NFT, etc.
-Feed and supplements used: include brand, dosage/strength, frequency of feeding and watering (alone); method-- by hand, drippers, rercirc' or drain-to-waste,... N-P-K #'s too if you can!
-Water source: RO/DI; tap- dechlorinated-?..... EC or TDS reading; pH (don't bother with this on RO/DI, do bother with TDS/EC though to confirm it's working well enough)
-Strain and age
-Climate: night and day ambient T and RH%; res' temperatures; any extremes in T/RH% exposure
- Light used: HID, LED, COB, combo of,... wattage; light cycle hours (20/4, 18/6 , etc.); distance to tops....
-Additional info: PH in the root zone. How long have the plants been affected?...How fast did symptoms appear?... Anything else you think might be relevant..

--Pictures including WHOLE PLANT PICS, and troubled leaves.. use normal light or flash as other light sources ruin color rendering, critical for diagnostics!

I did that in my original post, unless you need more info?

It looks like a potassium deficiency. Kelp Meal can be up to 10% salt depending on the brand and source and maybe causing a problem. What is ewc?

Since I guess you are not feeding it, it may just be you are running out of nutrients in the soil.

What can you tell me about your water? Are there chloramines?

Do you know the PH in the root zone?

You need a good PH soil probe to check the PH in the root zone. Get a Blue Lab Leap soil probe and meter or an Accurate 8 soil probe or the clone of it. Don't buy cheap ones they just do not work.

I'm using "Down to Earth" kelp meal and "Wiggle Worm" ewc or earthworm castings. I can't afford a good soil probe right now, but slurry test is coming out to 6.5ph

Detroit tap water, 70ppm but not sure about chloramines. I just let it sit for 48 hours, my other girls don't have issues with it

1/2 cup of Kelp Meal per plant? or for all plants because the instructions are saying 1 - 2 teaspoons per plant? I dont think you can over feed the worm castings. There is nothing fast acting in these amendments. I think you need a good balanced bloom fertilizer.
