I have read that you are not supposed to let coco dry out. I am growing autos so I planted the seed in the 3 gallon fabric pot. Do you water the whole pot or only a few ounces of water every day for the first few days around the seedling? If you do only a few ounces the rest of the pot looks very dry. I do not want to over water the seedling but I also do not want problems if the coco is dry for a few days around the edges and in the bottom of the pot from only putting a few ounces of water around the seedling or is the dry coco ok for a few days until the seedling is in the pot a few days to them water the whole pot on there?

First, let's find out which coco you plan to use. Not all coco is the same.

Thanks. It is canna coco in the brick that is listed to be pre buffered and I watered it with ph water at like 6.2 with around 5 ml per gallon calmag. I then put the seed in. Now the seedling has been up 2 days. I want to know do i only put a few ounces of water around the seedling for a few days and let the outside of pot of coco dry out or do i water enough to wet the whole pot even though it is just a seedling that would likely not drink that water yet on there.

Water the whole pot. If coco dries out it can become hydrophobic and hard to re-wet. It is a good idea to run a little yucca powder (a natural surfactant) in all of your fertigations.

I personally water using a half of cup in the beginning week in coco. It's really just a personal choice to water the whole pot or not. Unlike peat, which is hydrophobic, coco will not be a problem if you decide to use a little water in the beginning.

I water the whole pot once a day after they go into the coco. I try not to disturb the coco around the seedling so I don't upset any new roots.
