LED’s - just Veg or Veg and Bloom?

I usually start my autos with just veg, after 3 weeks I will then turn on bloom and keep them both on the full duration.

When should I switch on the Flower LED’s
I used mass built led lights for many years and ran them full spectrum from the start. Also ran the lights around the clock. I've been using Autocobs for a while now and they are much nicer. Small and easy to move, low heat throw, low electrical draw .49 amp, no noise as Autocobs have no fans and they are bright as the sun. www.cobshop.net. Quality lights for sure.

I currently have a king plus 2000w 350 actual watts you can find it on amazon. It’s a Chinese blurple but it’s done well through 2 grows from start to finish.

I’m looking into auto cobs or a quantum board 260 as an upgrade.

use just the veg switch for the first 3,4 weeks. then switch the bloom switch on aswell. this will give u tight compact node spacing. plants dont need much as much light in veg. i recently bought viparspesctra. they have both a veg and a bloom switch. i grew 4 plants with both switches on. and was disapointed, plants were streched. node spacing was very wide. not much other side nodes. so second grow used just veg switch for first 3,4 weeks and everything went back to normal. tight compact nodes, fast growing and a heavy yield ;) hope this helps, happy growing ;)

I looked in to getting autocobs but cobshop.net told me they no longer ship internationally :(

hi,

I’m doing my first grow and was wandering about which lights to use on my LED. I’m 17 days in since breaking the surface and I’ve only had the Veg proportion of my LED on. When should I switch on the Flower LED’s or should I just switch them on for the whole grow? What do other LED users recommend?

Thanks

those switch on on the "Burples" are just a gimmick your just denying the plants spectrum and watts... switch her on...

Want to get into LED's pop on over to my Journal and I can show what can be done and archived with DIY... also I will make sure you put your money in the right places if you thinking of buy a pre built unit... avoid Amazon at all costs

Ah!!! On my first grow with my two Platinum LED P300(180w actual) in a 4x4 with 6 mephisto autos, I was using only the veg switch until day 19 or so when I started LST, and I was really frustrated with how short and stocky my plants stayed! I mean I lowered the lights steadily after week 1 from 30 inches and ending at about 20 inches... I mean they only pull 90w actual per light with only the veg switch on. I was wondering why my plants were short stubborn bitches! Was that why? Made it hard as fuck to LST with nodes that tight... My plants were all about a cubic foot in size, yielded 2 oz each. First grow so I was happy either way but I always wondered what would have happened if I had both switches on to start!

I mean the P300s just keep the plants too short and stocky imo. I'm a big fan of yours though @autobeast read through the entire topping thread and took a leap with my second indoor grow and topped one of my plants so far! prob going to top half of em, and LST the rest! I'd be thrilled if you could check out my journal and let me know if you think the lights are the reason my plants stay so short and stocky. I bought a 3000k 150w COB toward the end of my first grow, and am using it from the start this time. I noticed the plants under the COB are a bit stretchier, but not by much. Think the solution is just to raise the lights?

Well today is day 20 for one of my girls and day 18 for the other so I’m just going to put both on from now and see how they go. I’ll post some pictures of them tomorrow in my journal
