Helloooo... I'm about to begin my journey but have 1 thing left to buy and the most crucial part.. a light. It's a 80cmx80cmx160cm tent with a 5" rvk fan + rhino hobby cb. Room temperaure sits between 20-25c WITHOUT the fan ON. Would the experienced point me in the right direction on what would be ideal? I'm worried if I go 400w hps the temps would shoot up with the fan ON. Looking at about growing 3plants. I've heard of cobs but there a lil out my price range. Would hps be easy to maintain temp? Or what kind of led? Seen marshydro 300 but would I need 2? Or more W?

I'm telling you bro really consider screw in led bulbs . A 400 watt hps you will probably have trouble keeping your Temps under 85 f or 30c maby I'm far from a expert lol. I just know I have been getting some awesome results with my led light I made . I only spent around 65 bucks American for 250w of led and my hps cost 160 for everything it was about the cheapest complete kit I could find. Try led bulbs and if you are not impressed try something else .

Hps is 35% light 65% heat. If it is contained in a tent, instead of a corner of a room, increase heat more. Hps will require climate control, unless you live in a cool region.
When I was running hps (photos) the room had a dedicated A/c unit. Ran when the lights were on, no exceptions.

So, hps will more than likely require cooling in warmer areas, but will heat for you in cooler areas (another thought on hps, local ordinances may make hps unusable... like here)

Led won't heat, so heat may be required
Doesn't increase Temps, so a/c may not be needed...
Led is the cutting edge for lighting...

Doin it on the cheap can be rough, but honestly, get the lights you want to grow with, not the ones you will replace in 6 months. Led, or hps, both grow some great smoke.

I have a 900w led in a 2x2x5 and it gets hot. I have the light ALL the way to the top. It’s cut down on temp now. Givers at around 75-78 now.

You could also build a set of cobs, my 4 cob setup ran me under 200, and would be sufficient for a 3x3.

I think most will agree that white led light is better than the burple lights it's more like actually sun

Yeah you can't go wrong trying to mimic nature

What kind of wattage do you think I should be looking at for a space like mine for the white LED cobs? Thankyou
