Lighting Led - 8 ball kush & w/widow - 1st grow - 12/12 sog

This will be my first ever indoor grow, I have experience growing outdoors with limited results (Mainly due to the UK weather!).:no:

I live in a shared house, This HAS to be a stealth operation!

My room is a converted Loft room, The temps are pretty stable as it is centrally heated, The ventilation is Awesome, Opposite windows create a proper breeze!

I Will be growing in a cupboard, Removed a couple of shelves, Mylar'd the place up, went a bit crazy with the duct tape lol, lets say im no Nick Knowles but its deffo waterproof:clap:

The dimensions are as follows:

H 44" x w 27" x D 25" or 3.8ft x 2.3 ft x 2ft

At the mometn the light is hanging using the clips provided from a hook screwed into the roof of the cab

height from light to bottom of cab is 27" and the distance from top of light to top of cab is 15" - this can be raised at least 5-8 inches depending on the extraction set up

1 x MS006 from Grow Northern
1 x 4" Rhino C/Filter
Still need to purchase the extraction fan , Got a Digical PH tester pen, A thermo/humidity reader
Plant magic Soil
Bio bizz bloom and grow nutes

The seeds, 5 x fem 8 Ball Kush (DNA) & 3x Fem White widow (DP)

I really need some advice on sorting out airflow as i really can not be cutting holes in the exterior cupboard doors, I can cut holes in the inside part tho, Eg from the left (Grow) cupboard innto the adjoining (Clothes) cupboard and if need be leave this door open?

The Carbon filter i much bigger than i anticipated, Is it best inside the grow room? There is a shelve directly above the grow room that the lights hang from, the Filter fits just about up there?

Would i be best cutting a 4" hole behind one of the light hooks in the roof of the grow room (MDF) and ducting the air out? leaving the filter obviously still in the grow room?

Once i do up the zips on my plastic doors it is totally light tight, Ill need to make a few smaller holes thru into the adjoing cupboards for intake, this will have to do im afraide as Stealth is key..

Im planning on cracking 8 seeds and aiming for a SOG style, I think as i have a few ventilation restrictions the less vegetation the better! I left the lights on for a couple of hours with the zip and door closed and it got warm (not hot) in there- temps read 83 and humidity was 34% - once the plants and ventilation is added ill take truer readings, I will be adding a clip on fan or two for air circulation

Ill be doing 12/12 from seed no doubt for the above reasons, aiming for 8-10grams per plant, anything over 20z total dry is perfect for me!

At the moment i pay £375 per Oz roughly, all in twenty bags (1.5grams) so 20z will save me £750 at least peer harvest

I ideally want the lights and fans on when im in, So prob gonna chucke them on about 6pm and off at 6am when i get up for work!

Sorry for the long[ ass start - any advice on the ventialtion would be very helpful! Also advice on pot size for 8 seeds in that space would be great, i may be able to give them 3-4 days of 20/4 before i return to work too..

This sounds like the best idea,as long as the hot air is directed out of the closet someware.

Hey Mang! Thanks for the reply, This is the only real prob i have and will have, I think ill have to duct out either directly into the cupboard on the right, the door on the right will be left ajar and windows open, This is also the only place i can intake fresh air once the growroom is sealed, The intake holes will be towards the bottom of the grow cab and will be going into the cupboard on the right also, hopefully this will do! Its gonna have to! lol

Do you think my target of 2+0z in a SOG style with 6-8 small plants is do-able? What size pots would u recommend, im thinking 3-4 ltr?

Two + oz is possible and I would use the four litre pots.

Cheers dude - will be attempting to do the extraction next few days - would it b cool to have the carbon filter sitting on the floor rear left of cab - extractor fan directly on top and then ducting to the hole in roof of cab?

Are hole saw drill bits good for the DIY newbie to use?

Dude that light will give you a lot more that 20 grams I've you veg on 24/0 for 2 or 3 weeks.

JT, They will be lucky to get 2-3 days of 24 hrs light - I'm back to work Monday and I don't wanna leave the lights running while I'm out , I only planted the seeds yesterday after 24 hrs soak n sink in water..
Until I move again and have my Own place it's gotta be small scale, stealth 12/12 biznis - I've planted 8 seeds and need to keep them small due to my restricted space - SOG style - If I can get 60grams total ill b chuffed! Next grow however I will book 2-3 weeks off work so I can veg for a while before 12/12..

so far only 2 (ww) have sprouted tap roots! I've had them all in the grow tent under the light so temps have been nice and warm, keeping the soil damp with sprayed water.. Problem I find Is that the soil tends to harden and I worry if they have the strength to push thru it? Why is germinating so testing on the patience lol
I'm gonna give them till this evening if still no action ill remove and do the paper towel method , planting again once a root has actually emerged ! This is ok ain't it?

Hey all, Little update, managed to get the intake and extraction holes cut no problem, had to remove the mylar id already put up tho , looks a bit messy now, so gonna redo the mylar when i get a day off, Ive managed to give them 16-18 hours of lights on a day since sunday when they sprouted thru the soil.. Will have to set up the timer for 12/12 from monday, hopefully a weeks veg will help a little!

I planted 8 seeds, of which 3 ww made it and 2 8 ball kush got through ok, They all look really healthy and green and seem to like the LED alot! Ive put them as close as poss to the light - about 12-14 inches - They are sitting on boxes Atm , No stretch at all...YEt!

Without the fan running i can feel a nice gentle flow of cool air coming through the intake ducting through the bottom of the cab, The Extraction fan will be housed in a Box on the Shelf above the cab ducting through to the cupboard on the right which i leave open.. The C/F will hang at the top right of the tent where the ducting is coming through..

Im gonna get a few more Seeds to pop to fill up the space - prob Jack-47 once ive switched to 12/12

My main issue now is getting the fan as soundproofed as poss, gonna wrap it in something.. without the extraction fan running and the door shut its almost silent!

I Will give them their first feed of Bioz Bizz grow on monday.. here is a few pics, again apologies for the shite quality! ps they are in 2 ltr pots

Hey all - its been exactly 12 days since they popped thru the soil, ive managed to give them at least 18 hours (sometimes 20) since day one, I will be giving them 16 hours today, 14 tomorrow and then 12/12 from monday, I hope the 2 week veg will help, u think they look ok for almost 2 weeks old, they look sooo healthy but very very short still? Real nice and green! I gave them a feed of 1ml bio grow last monday, I wont have to water again for a few days i think, does that seem right? almost 8-9 days since last water?

I actually have them sitting on boxes to get them closer to the light atm they are about 11-12 inches from canopy to light..

Looking nice mate :smokebuds: I think 12 inch is a little to close in veg though,it will keep them shorter.you wanna aim to be around 18-24 inch in veg,and once flower start moving them closer. :smoke:
