Lamp fell on plant!

Nightmare! I has a 20 watt cfl that was clipped to the side of pot so it was jus above the SAS seedling(14 days old). Well the spring broke whilst I was out all day and landed on the plant. It didn't burn any leaves that much but it was touching the stem jus below the leaves and the whole plant bent over in 2. The stem was was floppy and unable to support the leaf growth. All I could think of doing was to fill the pot right up so now the soil line is right up to jus below where the proper leaf starts.Buried the Cotyloins over. Then gave it a small feed/spray with a seaweed/aeawater bio-stim and PM Bio-silicon.Not getting direct lite now either. Wat can I do to save her. The leaf is fine and not dying.Yet! Any advice would be great.I really wanted to try this strain as never grown a haze hybrid. Gutted.

You've probably done about all you can do. Things happen. I hope it works out...

But, don't let one little mishap ruin your :peace:. Things have a way of balancing out.

Yea,cheers for lookin in. I didn't even take a photo as I couldn't bring myself to do it.Didn't want to leave her in that position for any longer then she needed to be!It jus looked horrible. The damage to the stem didn't quite go all thw way thru.Part of the stem still looked like it was working and was a normal colour but most of it was damaged beyond repair.Jus hoping it can rebuild stem tissue in order to carry out transportation. I'll soon kno either way.So afew prays to shiva and the other green gods is the order of the day! :crying:

plants are frequently damaged in nature at the base of their stems, most of the time they can recover. yours sounds like you've done the right things to help it, now really all you can do is wait and see how she does, it will probably recover but when things like this happen to autos you can expect it to affect your final yield potential somewhat dramatically. good luck hope she recovers fast.

Bummer redman - sending good vibes your way. :peace: Yesterday I broke the top completely off a 5 day old sprout by hitting it with the plug to my fan. Idiot move not taking the plant out of the box before messing with any wiring, but you live and learn...

This is evidently just a bad week for seedlings. I lost one yesterday when I touched the soil close to it to check for moisture. I guess the root was traveling horizontally because I saw the seedling move when I touched the soil. This morning it was laying down flat and had already started to wither. Oh well... at least I'm still vertical! :D

Crazy, it is a bad week for seedlings! One of my LR2s got knocked over by my rough handling of the pot, but I always wait until the initial part of the stem below the cotyledons has stopped stretching (when it starts showing second real leaves) and fill the pots up to about an inch below the cotyledons. After this the buried part will start to grow more roots and you end up with a very sturdy plant. Never lost one to damping off, if you do it early it will work! Mimics a seedling that fought it's way through a deep planting with none of the waiting and stress to the plant...

This happened yesterday and has completely recovered since!

I don't know if this will help your situation but my one mutant Snow Ryder seedling last week was so weak in the stem she was lying down on the top of the soil. I did like surffreak mentioned and topped off the soil up to the Cotyls and placed her in front of my fan. I keep a box fan going at all times to act like the wind to strengthen their stems... Now she is HUGE a week later and stem is already turning into a stalk. I don't know if more experienced growers would object but you may try placing a good breeze in there with some kind of fan on her (not TOO much just enough to shake her around a bit) that may help with strength. Good Luck man, I hope she recovers! :D
