This little shit about did that to me this morning... View attachment 1054080
Worst fight I had was while fishing for blues and wound up hooking an albacore. Surprised the hell out of me and fought like it was 10 times its size. Was actually a bit of a disappointment when we got it into the boat. Sat there like it had already been mounted to a plaque. Completely motionless.

cool beans!!!!!!? I like me some blue cats!!!!!!!!!
That's actually a channel. Just light colored because of clean water. They're all like that in that particular body of water until they get above 5 or 6 pounds.
Blues are tear drop shaped, Channels are long and thin, Shovels are short and fat like my ex wife...bullheads are annoying little bastards that are only good for shovelhead bait...

May be a different blue, But I always used to use a gold spoon for them... Then chunk 'em up and throw them in a crab pot or on my "big pole" for shark.
I miss salt water fishing now

One of the Colorado Cookies is no more...

Something I have never seen before: Once the seed popped and started send out the initial root, the plant literally pushed itself out of the growth medium. My attempts to right it caused the root to snap in half. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was in such a panic I didn't think of it. I started another seed (my last of the CC), in another chunk of media, only this time I made sure there was a path for the root to get through relatively unobstructed.

Tank two still hasn't popped, but I think I know the problem there. Water flow to that particular part of the lid is poor. I moved the seed to an area with better flow and the medium should stay wet enough for the magic to happen, probably tonight. Gonna check it every few hours and make sure the media stays drenched.

We were pulling them out of the water almost continuously. Didn't much care for the meat, though. Way too oily. The albacore, on the other hand, was amazing!

Crap pot is another term for crab trap, btw.
Blues feel and look as oily as ladyfish, So all they'd be good for to me is bait lol
