Turns out I might have killed my starter.... Had it for at least 6 months now.
When I put a roast into the oven, the starter jar was on the stovetop.. For some reason I didn't make the connection. By the time I noticed it, the jar was hot to the touch. In looking at it, with the amount of hooch in the jar it was clear the yeast were in overdrive. I think it might have gotten hot enough to kill the yeast, though. It's in the fridge now, and once its cooled a bit I'll try feeding it and see what it does.
