It is my fun new hobby.

That was a good read thank you.

As tempting as it is, I have already decided not to defoliate.
I noticed today my plant has a couple really tiny holes in a couple of the new growth leaves. I am not sure what causes it but while researching I found that I haven't been using my cal-mag yet and that LED grows tend to require more of it.
I currently have Botanicaire cal-mag plus. The directions state to use 5ml per gallon. Most everyone I have read on this site have been using 1ml per gallon? Is there a risk of too much cal-mag?

Glad you enjoyed. From what I understand of calmag is that it is hard to overdose but you could start at 1ml. @Waira has far more knowledge in the subject than myself.

:toke: hey bud! ..... holes like that are usually some sort of physical damage, which can happen early or be slight at first, but as the leaf grows the scarred regions don't expand evenly and can cause such holes, odd distortions, etc.,...
Ca-Mg use is typically a wise preventative, even in soil... For sure, LED seems to magnify the need for Ca-Mg product use, some more than others... no idea why to date, though! There is certainly such thing as too much, and Ca/Mg toxicity is more insidious than others for symptoms, often causes an antagonistic uptake issue if not outright "nute burn".... partly it depends on what you base nutes have in Ca/Mg content; Botanicare's product is loaded with other goodies, so I'd increase that to half strength, 2x/week, not necessarily every time you feed....
A heads up on GC seeds: we've seen a lot of misfires (non-auto'ing), lousy pheno's, and the like from them here,... very hit and miss! personally, I advise steering away from them, too many other better breeders out there...

Day 26 nothing exciting or new to report. This little blueberry just keeps getting bigger and looks happy to me. Here is a few pics for what has pretty much became a grow journal. I watered two days ago with cal-mag and Big Bloom. I tucked a few big leaves and smelled her stinky goodness.

edit: I just realized the leaves look gold in the picture but they are actually dark green and kind of shiny. I think they were just reflecting the grow light when I took the pictures.

lookin good! :headbang: ppp

Day 30. The Blueberry is doing well. I have gotten a little more aggressive with the LST trying to keep the bud sites about equal height.
My thoughts were if the plant thinks all the buds are equal height would it make them all dominate? Does anyone have any insight?

wow, she gonna have mucho budsitez :smoking: i dunno what u mean by "dominate", lol, but fwiw, when they're all equal height, they also all get more equal light, which is of course a good thing ;) ppp

It took awhile to find it here is a quote from the page. "As they begin to grow, they can identify their highest elevated branch and send the most growth hormones to it, ensuring that it remains the most prominent. "

I gather that as long as I can keep all the buds the same height throughout the grow I should be able to utilize every branch to its full potential.

Absolutely. Apical dominance can be influenced through bending and cropping. Full potential is iffy. You could have 70 nodes but only a percentage of those might be heavy while the others lack weight.

It's a good bet that you won't lose. Enjoy your growing.
