Lighting Is this cfl lights a good deal? ( new to cfl )

Yeah dude, i want the rough idea, thats all. But i will give some more info...

Gonna go for 1 or 3 liters air pots, and 12/12 from seed so plants wont be monsters in any way.

My grow area is about 120cm x 60cm and 100cm in hight. And in feet 3.9feet x 2feet and 3.2 feet in hight.

Hope this will help

Edit: and thanks for all answers so far, you guys rock!

If that was my set up I would grow 6 to 8 in 3L pots. Here is an idea and it is just an idea lol not seen anyone do it but how about veg them on 12/12 like you say then go 18/6 or 20/4 when there in flower that way you stunt the height but still get all the light they want in flower.

My idea to go 12/12 from seed is that all my autoflower seeds are gone and i got a lot of photo strain seeds that i wanna grow before i buy more ( short on cash ). And im also short on grow space so i cant have one veg and bloom room. Therefor my 12/12 from seed.

I know this is autoflower forum but i ask you guys even if im gonna grow photos because your the best to ask. And my question isent that much about the plants, more lights :)

My idea is one room 12 hours light so i can continue to refill it with new plants on a monthly basis....
So it will have plats in diff. stages all the time, so i think changes my light hours will be very hard with my idea/setup. Love your input tho.

Love justin

That looks like a better deal that mate, Have you thought about running dual spectrum lamps?
Thats what i use and find is a hastle free grow and yeilds are good try work out how many Watts you will have and average 110w per plant. So say you have 2x 250 w id grow 4 to get the best performence.
As for distance even with CFLs you wana start them off at around 4-5 inch away so that you will get good inter node spacing and lower or increase hight to suit what node space you want, During flowering i keep my CFLS 1-2 inch away and a good idea is to rotate your pots every so many hours or each day this will give even coverage to your plants.

Alot of people say CFLs dont give of much heat I beg to differ the bigger the lamp and the more you use will create alot of heat... Not as much as HPS or MH but still need fans and good circulation
Hope i havent bored you too much lol
As Mr Tangsaid Noods is a Pro CFL grower so his input will be more accreate than mine as ive only been growing this year but i still pulled of a nice 72grams from one auto using CFLs

I rised my lamps to 2inch away and have a fan blowing, so temps are @ 26c at top of my small girls right now.

So much info and input now. You guys are truley amazing.

Lets wait for Mr Noods then...come here master cfl grower....hehe

Who me? LOL, Thanks for all the trust, guys. :) I couldn't have said it better than si just did. Especially about the heat. It's not the bulbs that get hot, they don't really. They just get warm. I can hold the back of my hand on my 200w'er for an indefinite time and the skin won't even turn red. It's the built in ballasts that produce the heat, and they can get hot. A small fan blowing on them helps a lot.

That deal with the parasol reflector is sweet, I'd go for it. (The prices for the ones in post #1 is pretty steep.) As si said, 4 plants max with those then.
I couldn't have answered better. Oh, watch your leaves wanting to grab the lights. It will burn them. No fire and smoke, just a brown withering away...
:smokebuds:

Hey there master Noods and thanks for your input.

Yeah the first lamp i got was from a shop in Sweden, and is really over priced compared to the deal on ebay. Not used to ebay, but now i am.

Any one using the parasol refloctor and know how many plants you can get under one of thoose? 1meter in diameter it is, with options to get more then 1 light under there if ya need it.

Peace Justin

how many plants you can get under one of those?
Theoretically, you could grow 15 plants under the parasol set-up. But that would be unrealistic, as I imagine your wanting to grow some buds.

I personally would be content to grow two plants under that, but with side lighting. The main cola grows taller than the rest and the light on the top needs to constantly be raised to accommodate the growth up there, while at the same time you're pulling that light up farther and farther away from the side branches. So you need to compensate with lights on the sides.

See here, the colas all tall and shining in the light. There were so many large leaves up top, during veg growth, that I couldn't add lights to the sides. There was no room because the plants just filled out the tent. After removing some leaves after they were well into flowering, I was able to lower the side lighting to help out the side branches, but by then it was already too late. You can see how the light penetration just stops at the uniform level of the side branches.

Yh thats the problem with CFLs the penatration is poor but with side lighting its quite good i always rotate my plants to get an even coverage
