New Grower is this any good?

what is the difference/benefit of checking pH in water as opposed to checking the pH in the soil?
i'm still a bit of a noob & have only been testing my soil a couple of hours after i water/feed.

Many growers only have a liquid pH meter so have no choice but to check run off. Soil readings are more accurate, if, and only if, you have a good soil meter like the CW Accurate 8 or a Kelway. Those cheap $20 soil probes are notoriously inaccurate. To get an accurate reading with a soil probe wait at least 2-3 days after feeding.

Again absolutely perfect advice. That is exactly how you do it. Because Muddy and I have to be a little different - I bet he uses an accurate 8 cause I use a Kelway. They are not really that expensive and they last for years. Save your money and get a good one they are really only a little over $50. They can usually be had at a good garden supply place. My wife uses mine in her garden and got her garden in tune. Roses Brocoli and just about everything else that grows need accurate pH to suit their specific needs. You wanna see your blueberries take off get their pH down to 5.0 and look out.

I started out with a Kelway but didn't like the short, fat probe on it. The CW has the same dial on top as the Kelway but has the 12" probe, which I find easier to use. Gets deeper in the pot and doesn't disturb the roots as much.

I knew it. We couldn't possibly use the same one. I bet he doesn't grow blueberries. Pot plants like to grow in my blueberry patch. They love the 5.0 pH also. They grow just as well in 5.0 pH as they do in 6.0.

LOL, I've got a couple blueberries but they are still young and not producing much yet. But I will have elderberries this year!
