Hey,

I've been doing some lollypopping and defoliating to keep the humidity in check with this jungle.
However today I noticed some of the lower nodes seem to be getting nanners?
Are they partially herming? is this the plant reacting to the stress?

In the first picture that looks like a stamen -- there's the narrow tube ("filament") separating the staminate growth from the stem, which is also shaped like a stamen rather than a bract*, but it has a fuzzy white stigma coming out of it. That particular growth is intersex, but how widespread are stamens through the rest of the plant? If it's just a few at a lower node I'd remove them and see if it grows more, but I'd cull plants where they're appearing throughout.

* Stamens look (American) football-shaped, to me, whereas bracts usually have a more drawn out shape and a pointier end (with stigmas).

Thnx for the great info!
For now, it's just a few at a lower node and I was contemplating the idea of removing them.
Absolutely! Remove all the "nanners" you can find, pretend you are Lorena Bobbitt !!!
