Is poor genetic expression the reason for poor results?

hey, guys i've watching along curious as to what peoples thoughts were. now i don't know how true it is but i've seen online where people say that some seedbanks/breeders will also just be reselling bag seed just repackaged(hopefully someone more experienced can have some input on that). i don't wanna mention any names but what has been stated above but since switching to mephisto seeds they do follow the guide well. for a new grower. now freebies from them on other hand not so much but that could be me also. keep in mind i haven't grown many different breeders or plants

To your first point that just shows the importance of having threads where we can give our experiences ordering from places so we know who is legit. I’m lucky to have found some legit AF banks (all through seeing growmies reviews on forums) to get top genetics.

To your other point, what i’ve seen is freebies a lot of times are untested crosses of popular strains, terminated projects, or crosses that were developed to help further other breeding programs. So you the grower will be getting all the phenotypic variation the breeder sees during their selection process…usually why the freebies don’t come with descriptions other than the parents used in the cross.

Again i’m new to the world of cultivation so please take my comments as you would from any rookie. I’m simply learning and having fun joining in some threads :d5:

What were the breeders you were have good results with?

Sweet Seeds has given me the most reliable results so far. However I just got some Mephisto and I am expecting good things from them.

Most of my issues were with one particular seed bank and their branded seeds. Then I switched to another seed bank, which carries a few different breeders and got some Sweet Seeds and I really liked them, but their "bank branded" seeds were hit or miss too.

I think I just spent too much time researching the process of growing, and not nearly enough time on verifying the results from various breeders. That led me to some disappointment over the last few years.

You will get mixed reviews on Fastbuds from what I can tell after reading a lot of reviews. Some people really like them while other think they are garbage. I am in the middle of my first real grow of autos. They are all Mephisto strains. I got a bad pack of Northern Cheese Haze from seedsman a few years back. I was going to run 2 of them but only 1 popped. I planted a 3rd and it didn't pop either. The 1 that did pop is a total runt. The strawberry nuggets I planted 2 and 1 of them stunted for some reason... Probably something I did shortly after they started growing. There were both about the same size and then one stopped growing while the other is the biggest plant in the tent. The 2 sour stompers and the 1 4 Assed monkey in my tent all seem close to the same size and structure. I do have some sweet seeds strains, maybe I should give them a try.

I have some sweet seeds... The original crystal candy auto, original cream mandarin auto... As well as the Mohan Ram, Sweet Cheese XL, Sweet Gelato, Black Cream, Red Strawberry Banana, and Runts XL autos... I'll have to give them a go soon...

I’m still at the point where I blame crappy results on myself :)

Trust me, I still have plenty of mess ups as well.

I have used the breeders you mentioned and experienced similar results.
