Is my plant ok. Curling Leaves, Yellow spots

LMAO... Well that's good about the Epsom Salts.
They are in FFOF and Perlite (75% FFOF/25% Perlite; or close to that ratio). I water them with water with a pH of 6.3-6.8 (or close to it). Every other feeding (after 2nd feeding of plain water) I alternate water and water with 1/4 strength Lucas Formula. I'm also going to start giving them molasses soon (maybe next feeding).

Yeah I need to find a new watering jug or something that won't get water on the leaves.
Thanks for the help man. It's much appreciated and nice that someone at least answered my questions and helped.

Sorry no one has picked up on your thread to help you out. It gets busy here and sometimes a thread or two falls through the cracks.

While some of those spots may be from nutes being splashed on them, to me they look over fed. The curling up along the leaf edges and the burned tips are why I think that. FFOF is a very hot mix, meaning it contains a lot of nutrients. It's notorious for being too strong for the seedlings of many strains. Most who are using it are mixing it 50/50 with Happy Frog. You could flush them but it really doesn't look too bad. I would suggest only giving them plain pHed water for awhile and keep an eye that it doesn't get any worse.

Here's how I water/feed to avoid splashing nutes on the leaves. I went to Lowes and bought a cheap, $10 sprayer. I cut the nozzle off the end so that the water comes out in a straight stream instead of a mist. I pump up some pressure in it and then just water with the wand. It's long enough I can reach the plants in the back and I'm able to get it under the leaves so nothing splashes on them.

Thank you much for that Muddy. I'll lay off the Nutes for the next few feedings.
Does that mean I don't need to use Epsom salt and would it be ok to give them some Molasses on their next feeding?
Or just plain pH'ed water for next week/week and a half?
Yeah I've heard about FFOF burning some seedlings and then I've heard people use it without burning, so I took a chance. Next time I think I will get some Happy Frog also. It's just where I went to buy medium the FFOF was same price as HF, so I bought the OF since I've read alot of good things about it.
I may also try the ProMix (?) I've read about on here.

Yeah I'll have to see if I can find a better watering can. I don't have a Lowe's close by, but maybe next time I go into the city I'll go have a gander at what they have.

Thanks again for those suggestions Muddy.

No, you won't need the epsom salts right now, but they are a good thing to keep on hand. If you do see any signs of a magnesium deficiency you can treat it quickly with them. Most grocery stores and pharmacies have them. Not expensive either. Hold off on the molasses for a while too. Just give it water for the next couple feedings and see how it does. Plenty of nutrients in the FFOF, let em feed off it for awhile.

Cheers for jumping in Muddy and helping out. I've personally no experience of FFOF but I'm assuming it can be a little rich for seedlings similar to the allmix we get in the UK? That's why I chose to use lightmix and then gradually build-up my organic nutes dependant on what my babies tell me.

Sorry if I was a little out of depth there. Was just trying to answer what Slowtogro was asking and try to get more info so an expert like you could drop by and put him on the right path.

Thanks again, you've just proved why this site is a must for all of us newbs to auto's.

Greetings fellow enthusiasts:

I suppose I could likely take the prize for growing plants with bad yellowing leaves, it appears to be my downfall. I'm guilty of giving them just a little bit too much nitrogen at the git-go, as well as later. My pH is pretty close, I'm reading 6.4 or nearby, but it's my heavy handedness that's bringing me down, as I mix the ferts up too strongly obviously. Let me check my notes.

And sure enough there's the problem, some old 20/20/20 I got from the Co-Op that I mixed up at 50% thinking I could get away with it. And I'd have gotten away with it when growing my old standby Afghani. But that's still 10/10/10 when cut in half.... Duh.

Right, here's one at 12/1/10 - "Major yellowing of fan leaves, 3 weeks until harvest." And another at 4/11/11. And now the same thing with some Mi5's and Diesel Ryders. The Diesels get it bad compared to the Mi5's. I'm within 3 or 4 weeks of harvest and the D.R.'s have major yellowing of the fan leaves, and many smaller leaves, but the Mi5's don't show it as much. I first watered with some ferts at about 4 weeks. It was apparently too strong so now I'm in the do-do again. Truth is, if you grow half-fast, then you get half-fast returns, and that's been my experience. You've got to get serious and not cut any corners. It must cut my yield by half to get the yellows. Doesn't seem to affect the quality though.

And container and hydro growing are much more likely to exhibit problems that plants in soil, which is more often quite forgiving.

hey Muddy flowerpower here I just gotta tell ya your post are great but your quote oh lord truer words have never been spoken I don't know you're age but you are a wise person. thank you ! I'm new to this, but I'm learning at my age over 50 so darlin I have learned a few things, & gonna keep learning.

that ffof should have enough nutes in it to last 4 weeks, id start with 1/4 strength nutes around day 30 and gradually build up, then give them some epsom salts about 10-15 days after flowering starts (1 tsp per gal) to prevent a cal mag def and then again day 35-40 of flowering. keep your water PH'd and you should have no problems. less is more with autos.
