I think the branch (the auto clone) will flower on time with its mother , same if you clone it in soil.

Air layering is trimming leaves and scraping the stem, inducing flowering by wrapping with moss / cotton wool / etc. before cutting the stem from the plant.
I used to do this when growing photos indoors. Improved the cloning result, because by the time the branch was cut off, it already had roots. No down time.

It is possible but it's a technical and a delicate process. As a rule, choose strains that have a similar flowering time to each other. Just like with growing any strain of marijuana, to flush the plant of nutrients with pure water is essential. In order to ensure none of the strains you have grafted together experience a nutrient deficiency, it is a good idea to ensure that they have similar flowering times. Otherwise, you will have to flush more than once, and this could potentially cause problems for the plant if they are not flowering at the same time.
