I know when my plant shows a pistol, I know it is a female. But is it considered to be entering it's flowering stage? This is my first indoor grow and I want to get it right.
Sorta..not really. A pistol is part of the flower...congrats it's a girl. But the flowering stage proper starts when she's done her vertical stretch. If she stops growing taller she gonna start getting fatter
The pistil is the female sex organ of the flower ... it is sticking out trying to hook up w/ a grain of pollen to produce a seed ... on a healthy plant the pistils pile up to become buds ... as the plant ages the pistils begin to turn brown as they lose their viability and ability to produce a seed when pollinated ... A plant is ready to harvest when almostall pistils are brown and shriveled ... that is a sign that the plant has run it's course and the potency will start to suffer if harvest is delayed too long after this point.
Keep giving her growth nutrients till the vertical growth has, stopped, even if pistils are showing, then when she's stopped growing up introduce flowering nutes
