Old Reviews iPower 19" Trim Bowl

I bought one of these a couple years ago and it is one of my favorite additions to my growers arsenal. It is rough on the buds and it definitely chews up quite a bit but I always make dry ice hash with the trim and use it for edibles anyway so no loss for me.
I have gotten this thing down to a good science and can trim a pound+ an hour with soooo much less effort.

I have this version
Amazon product ASIN B079FFNGW3
I tried it once, and it chewed up so much good herb, that I now just use it as a coarse grinder for kief.
It gave about a 50% trimming yield, when hand trimming gets me about 90%.
Close examination of its operation convinces me that this method can't be efficient.

I would use it on my popcorn or lesser bud, but not recommend for main colas. Also if my hands couldn't handle hand trimming this would be nice to have.

I just ordered the vivosun version which was a little cheaper.

I just used it for the second time. My bud got a little dry on me because I was too hungover the day I should have processed it. I was expecting to loose more trichomes than before. I used it with 2 of the shims in place and it worked well. It is not as good of a trim as my hand trim but I did in 30 minutes what would have taken many hours over several days. It did not knock off enough trichomes to weigh. I was very surprised. I processed 367 grams of dry bud and got 42g of sugar leaf trim or about 12%. The thing is it looks a little like rolling tobacco in consistency so I am curing it in a Grove Bag and will give it to some of my chef buddies that smoke to see how this works out?

Did I mention I did not get a repetitive motion injury :jump:

My vivosun trimmer works amazingly well also. I was very happy I decided to get one. Made trimming the lower buds on my cheese plants go from hours of trimming by hand to less than a hour with the bowl trimmer. It's a good size bowl trimmer and it fits allot more weed than I expected it too.

This was dry trimmed? Have you tried it wet trimming?
That is correct dry trimming only. No way am I interested in the mess I envision in a wet trim. My gloves are impossible to clean just from a harvest with minimal touching. I grow sticky weed!

So I ordered the Vivosun 16" version bowl trimmer and tried it with some wet flower. These weren't pre-trimmed, just snipped off the plants. No issues with it being wet, though I only had a couple onces of bud left to trim this grow; it may not hold up well to larger quantities.
