Introducing myself, rate my setup

Welcome and have fun :funny: with this. First time for me growing indoors and new to AFN. Growing Northern Light autos:weed: from Vancouver Seed Bank. I started a journal if you want to take a look . https://www.autoflower.org/threads/nl-autos.74243/ Growing for the fun and the medicine. :peace:

hi and :welcome: @Z Pops :pass: personal grow dont need much more than a 2x2 :smoking: giving some to a few pals is cool :d5:its when they think it will be a regular thing,or start ringing you up or txting and saying things that shouldnt be said but in a face to face :cuss: no smell no sell no tell.................some friends need a good kick in the balls.
coco can grow some big beautifull plants, but it can give more trouble than some light soil with some perlite added.
what nutrients ? ph pen,ec probe, can be a few hiden £ extras involved in a grow.
good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:
My one friend I'm thinking of is a brother from another mother so I'm cool about that lol. I Def plan on a pH pen to test my water and medium, but not familiar with the need for an EC probe actually (can you elaborate?). Will also be getting pH up/down, inexpensive USB microscope to check for trichomes, and a few other accessories.

That same friend as an RO system so some freebies might be his reward for letting me fill some jugs if I need to. Not sure what nutes yet... Was leaning towards fox farm trio and cal mag. I'm fortunate to have a hydroponics/grow shop a few mins drive from my house so I'll likely get my medium and nutes there to support the local shop. Will probably try to chat up one of their clerks as well. They have rave reviews online so I'm sure they'll be helpful.

P. S. I'm in $ not in £. Philadelphia, USA. But I appreciate you limey Brits! :muahaha:(Peaky Blinders is the best show ever)

What about having an ounce or two in stock specifically for backup and emergencies? Would she oppose that?
A little extra is no big deal and I didn't want to make it sound like she's a wretch:crying:. I mentioned it more because I see people tend to suggest getting expensive lights and setups to get huge yields, but that's not really my top priority. Also what she don't know won't hurt her!

@Z Pops your setup seems great I grow in coco I'm not a big fan of soil but going down that route may be less maintenance for you but whatever way you go you will smash it and it's real nice to meet you my friend

@Z Pops , hello bud and :welcome: to AFN. Sounds like you have some idea about the setup route you’re going to go so good luck with everything. This forum is the best in the world for any questions and all members are super helpful. If I can give you a tiny bit of advice is think carefully about the medium you gonna choose. Do plenty of reading and research. I personally would go for soil if I was in your shoes only because it’s the most forgiving of the lot. Then with experience you can move on to coco, hydro etc. That doesn’t mean you can’t make a success out of coco straight away but that’s the way I would do it. Good luck with everything and keep us tagged. Peace and happy growing.:bighug:

I think ya'll are convincing me to go with soil. Forgiving is good, especially because I'll be doing some traveling during the holidays and will need my buddy to come water/feed while I'm gone. Fair to say that soil medium requires less frequent watering / feeding than coco? If so then I think soil will be the winner

Heya! First time grower here, too. My setup is VERY close to yours, but I went with a 4x4 tent. I'm 7 weeks into growing 4 different autos in coco/perlite with organic dry amendments and it's going really great. Just pH the water after adding calmag, and don't overwater. Very, very simple.
