New Grower Improved runoff method for testing soil pH

They do this with a vast amount of product's. . Consumers need to make other's aware.. look at the state of The LeD market.. its only a hand full of known reputable led maker's. Yet products are rebranded .. trash the reputable makers toss in some cases..low end leds they stopped making.etc look at etek etc.. you see the exact PH pen same color same lines etc. Milwaukee and others selling. . Who os the original maker hmmm.that same pen can be on amazon under 5 difrent brands..

Amazon has them all ranging in orice $10 to roughly $30 look same for most just brand some. NO names

Sometimes old school methods can be easier than expensive electronic meters. When you get enough practice using them, Liquid PH testing kits are very accurate, easy to use, and teach you to recognize the color ranges very quickly.

My 2 cents worth, there are no more pennies in Canada eh!

Cheers

i got one quesfion.. is that really neccessary??? autos grow realy fast ive used klassman potground h soil that is so strong you dont need to fertilize first 3-4 weeks (thats whole veg cycle) so i tou dertilize once a week can the soil be so saturated that you need to pay attention on runofff??

Good point. I use Klasmann-Deilmann Potgrond H70. It is peat moss with premixed fertilizer of 1.5 grams per liter. The runoff is 2000 PPM. That seems hot but tolerable for a seedling.

Klasmann-Deilmann is a decent German company but they don't list any more details about the added fertilizer, so I don't know exactly what my plants are eating. I think we can assume they add cheap industrial fertilizer, maybe it has micro nutrients, maybe not.

It works, it is a good generic base for making soil, but I will be changing to a better growing medium.

do you have any suggestions?? i saw that some reccoment kt2 klassman but i cant find it on site..I like h70 coz i dont need to worry about fertilizing first month.. i had mys first gr0w in them and i got 2oz per plant (6plants in 1m2)..
I got one question can somebody explain to me how to use this.. ec_meter.jpg
i know how to use it but wtf do i do with value it shows me?? i watered my plants today check runoff it was 6.6ph and ec meter showin 245 what ever that means..

Hi Disk, what growing style are you using? Soil, hydro? 6.6 is a little high for soil and significantly high for hydro

As to your question if you need to worry about pH with autos since they grow so fast the answer is yes, that fast growth means they can also go off track really fast since they won't absorb nutes correctly if the pH is off by too much

Do you have a grow journal on site?

Im growin in soil, u didnt understand me,i was asking since we use rich with fertilizing soil and if you transplate your plant you dont need to fertilize first 5 weeks,is testing runoff nessesery? I dont have journal right now but im fighting wit one photo critical jack (powdery mold, nitrogen saturation) so i had to flush her yesterday.. plus super high temps.. She was put on 12/12 23.06 so buds seems to me verry small, but considering enviroment doesnt suprise me.. I was thinking that till 7.0 run off is good for soil..:-(

Diskokobaja, we do have some members here that have their soil dialed in to the point that they don't check pH but it took them some time to get to that point.
Testing runoff is better than nothing but as a soil grower you are better off with something like the Accurate 8 that tests the soil directly.

Looking at your video I saw a couple of leaves with possible signs of a "P" deficiency which often shows up when blooming starts.

I flushed her with 30l of water ,first 10l plain water and then with 20l water fertilized with 50% .. hope she will do just fine now...
