New Grower ILGM's GDP & Blue Dream Autos planted april30 Organic vs FFoF vs Miracle-Gro. 2nd time grow

Today I decided to cut off anything that was in my way near the soil or if i thought it was wasted energy on a bottom tiny branch I cut it. I'm not scared to test things now as I have more bud than i can smoke from my last harvest, my fear then was i would not have enough until next harvest, those fears are GONE now.

After cutting leaves and branches I added a bit of BuildaFlower and mixed in less than 1/4 cup of buildasoil's Craft blend in each pot and watered the top dressings in a little. I'm making some banana peel fertilizer but its taking forever to make so I'll add that next week :smoking:

I measured how tall each plant is since this is kind of a test vs soils so the results are:

Miracle-gro hers GDP 11.5"
Miracle-gro his GDP 15.5"
OF 5gallon GDP 7.5"
OF 3gallon BlueD 13"

I hope the 2 runts that are both in 5 gallon pots AND both in OF pull through and get a little bigger. Well this test showed me 1 thing, this is the last time i am buying OF even if it was not the stunting reason its still expensive so time to move on to better things :smoking:

Yeah...I’m leery of OF too. I think you’ll find many experienced growers on here are.I will use Happy Frog. However, I prefer to mix up my own blend if I’m not feeling too lazy. OF is the reason why I grow in totally inert media in hempy buckets most of the time. It’s inexpensive. i know exactly what’s going into it. There are no bugs. There’s very little hassle when you grow in larger containers (smaller containers get tricky though).

Everything is looking good right now. Stay the course and keep up the good work.

Next run I do in my 2x4 I'm gonna try OF mixed with SF and add 20% Perlite or so. I am loving the coco and perlite grow I just started though

oF was good for knowing nothing and starting out but I'll upgrade now. Tests like these show results even tho my test is kind of small and anything could be affecting their sizes i still blame the oF. :smoking:

At the end of this grow i will provide plant size, root size, yield, and smoke test results so we can see if miracle-gro tastes like shit but can grow decent bud or not or if oF can not stunt my babies and catch up to other soils.

Its all fun to me to play around with and i hope you guys enjoy watching what happens.

Well now you're making me want to get out 5 or 6 DDA seeds and see how they do germinating in a hempy solo cup for me. They are a couple years old but I've never had a problem getting the DDA to sprout. I'm gonna do it cause I gotta know. I'll report back in a few days.

Dark Devil seed viability test is underway. Five DDA seeds well scarified and planted straight into a perlite solo cup. Three to four days should tell us what we need to know. So my method they go from the ziploc to the sand bottle where I shake the heck out of it for a few minutes. I mean it's just two or three minutes of hard shaking so I do it till both arms hurt then do it again. I take them out of the sand using tweezers so I don't get any oil on them from my fingers (yes I'm a little anal) and drop them into pre-made holes about 1/4" deep or just a bit deeper. Cup sets on a seed/seedling heating mat and I put a clear solo cup upside down over the cup to hold in moisture.

My DDA just sprouted today in soil finally its over here Here: My dark devil auto and qpaxtangie grow

Wow lets have a DDA grow off haha i will have 2 going, 1 is in a cup of water and 1 just sprouted.

Thanks for sharing how u germ, the sand bottle was a good idea.
