I was told never use tap water

Our water is not consistent. Part of it comes from river water, which varies, depending on how much water and minerals run off the mountains, especially after spring thaw. Also, part of it comes from wells. So, when we get lax on testing (especially pH), things can go bad for the plants. Even the well water can change, depending on the amount of rain and how much the wells are used. Things were not looking good, so just tested the water, holy cats, the pH was literally off the chart. I'm guessing by the color chart progression, it would test out at about 9.5 to 10.

Oh boy! We're at 800ppm before my RO system treats it with 180+ grain. We get algae blooms in our toilets that can kill animals and make people get sick. When I first started growing here the water was at 180ppm them a few years later it remained over 500. pH stays over 8.8.

@SHRED I'd use that RO system because should an issue arise, you can normally rule out your water as a problem. I was able to make it to mid flower on 500ppms but would lose all my leaves within two weeks. If I ever have issues now it is not because of my water with the RO system.

what RO unit are you using? I live In AZ and have TDS ranging from 700-1000, usually around 750. I tried using ro system a couple times over the years. Last month I bought a 4 stage and within 75 gallons it killed the di filter after the membrane and the membrane was putting out 90 tds water which should be unde 30.

That's got to be well water, right?

I'll be selling mine soon as I'm moving but it cleans my water from 800-900ppm down to 20ppm
