Hello guys! I'm having trouble getting my seeds to pop.

I have them in the try with a dome and heat mat underneath. They been like this for about 5 days now. I check them everyday and add water to the try to increase humidity. Still nothing.

I don't know what's going on. Should I continue to wait or should I start over? Thxs in advance

I would give it 2 more days. I put them in GH RR plugs right into soil and cover. My last seeds took 4 to 7 days with 3 seeds all done the say. I'm like 1 for 15. New grower. Hope I helped.

Thxs. I used the plugs to. I will give it a few more days.

You win some and you lose some with seeds. They aren't perfect. With the paper towel method (which I use) make sure you don't flood the paper towel. Moist is good because you want the tap root to claw it's way to the water.

I checked the temperature it's said 85degrees is that good or bad?

I have always done the paper towel in a zip lock bag method and it germinates in 3 days.
Most definitely i have my seeds out of the, soil by 4 days tops with the paper towl and,zip lock bag or Tupperware container method in a warm dark area

Do you soak the seeds for 24 hrs in a glass of water first? A lot of guys do that, and I've started doing it myself. I think I'm 100% since then. I soak and then plant it into soilmix--I don't wait for roots to show.

Also, Mephisto put up a thread describing their germ method in their forum here too, it's a paper towel variant, you might try that one.
:pass:

I always go damp paper towel inside a dvd case and in a warm spot ...on top of the boiler. I have recently started popping seed straight into a root riot which also works a treat.

The heat via heating pad shouldn't be a problem. What I use is ceramic salad plate, moist paper towel on top with seeds and then put in large plastic bag filled with as much air as I can get in it before sealing and drop on heating pad. In the past I have had issues with plastic plates and especially porcelain. Porcelain doesn't heat well enough for germinating. I always use a ceramic plate, checking several times per day.
