Thanks yoda, but i am used to a hell of alot higher return than that, but it was just scruff. i used a queen bee extractor for that run, i think it is rated for around 40g or so, but that is subjective to alot of factors, like pre run processing and density. i also usually only run bud and i get 15-20% return with either the Queen Bee, or the Honey bee. i have also used mason jars to do BHO washes and get really good results there too.
LOL we didnt use Butane in the 70's yoda.. in 1976 we made our own alcohol and that is what we used.. and no i NEVER made green oil unless i was using it for cooking.
I mentioned i finished it like i was taught in the 70's, so what i did was Before..and i mean before you add any heat at all to your oil/tane scrape, and before you do any wipping.. your just making it harder to release the tane when you do that. put a few drops of grain alcohol into your scrape and mix it in.. i'm not going to get into the whole polar/non polar solvent issue, but just enough to say that the alcohol since it is part polar, will cling to the tane and draw it out so to speak.
I fixed my convection oven to go down to 100f and that is where i start the evap/carboxing process i babysit it till i see many small bubbles forming, then pop it in my vac chamber till it gets stable (solid) then back to the oven and repeat. never ever let it boil or smoke ..there is a very fine line you cannot cross with heat.
i could go on for hours about some of the massive oil runs we used to do using hexane ( a food grade solvent used to extract soy bean oil etc), ive tried un scented pure propane,Co2,i even ran liquid O2 through a stainless tube once.
Just be Careful! Any solvent you use is carcinogenic and must be properly removed. do the flame test often.
As for your yields, all i can say is this..you will see tons of bho videos and they just about all tell you to grind, chop, tare your product..
i have one question to ask.. if you have a drop of honey that falls on your shirt as you eat your chicken nuggets are you going to rub it into your shirt making it harder to get out, or do you carefully remove it from the surface?
moral of the story,, stop rubbing the trics and goo into the leafy matter right? i try to not even bag it tight, but i do put it into bags and throw it in the freezer, this will dry it well (a good thing because the tane will freeze the water in it and make it hard for the oil to flow through the tube) once it's nice and frozen reach on in the freezer and without letting the heat of your hands soften the goo break up the bud that way trying to keep it frozen you wont rub it into the leafy bud matter. just keep it frozen until you put it in the tube.
wake up! lol long but i hope it all made sense since i'm doing dabs as i write this.
you need help holler, i'll try to help you be safe and productive peace and thanks for caring
