Hypothesis regarding plant pheremones - flowering autos have screwed my photos

yeah if the roots arent connected or close and all together in the ground,Ive personally not heard of sympathy flowering once theyre all separate. kinda neat though if thats whats going on.LOL! Ive had photos flower early mid spring before but thats due to overcast days and the whole stealthy thing under trees will induce flowering as quick as you want essentially but I know your doing them in decent sun?..lol sooo I dunno bro.lemme know whatcha find out if anything.

Yeah it's weird bro, but to prove the hypothesis, there would be some extensive experiments needed ! . OK so this has happened to me and also to Trippyness too... similar scenario !

Yes, was freaking me out as light cycle was 24/0. Stable genetics. Autos started flowering and so did All my photos in the same tent.
If I did not change tents They would be in full flower by now.
Very strange. I believe you are correct and more research needs to be done

Hey guys,
Thanks for starting this thread! Very interesting indeed. I'm only running autos but I've noticed that the 2 last autos I planted basically skipped the vegetative stage and went straight into flowering. I know some autos do that normally, but I don't think this is the reason. I think the reason might be what you've pointed out - that is, that pheromones released by my Green Crack (80 days old) make the other seedlings flower earlier and skip the veg stage. Could be wrong though...
Anyways, thank you for sharing!
Peace,

Peace,

Thanks for the input, how old were the seedlings that flowered early ?

They were about 20 days old, and had received very little feeding. Do you think it could have been caused by pheromones/phytohormones?
Again, thank you for a very interesting topic!!

Peace,

Doubt it, auto's are gonna do their own thing anyways. More looking at a photo periods going early due to the pheromones/phytohormones of nearby flowering plants.

I'd say the hours of light your receiving has more to do with flowering than anything.
Not knowing your exact location it appears you can have anywhere from 12.5 hrs of daylight in the north

To 13.6 hrs of daylight in the south.

Here is the daylight calculator so you can see exactly what your getting.
Hope this may help.:pass:

bull fkn shit ...i have just had plants veg out long and nearly finished flowering planted Last Sept ....thats gonna be 8 months total, ....i knew i was right...

Because it's still not enough light to induce veg, you need over 15-16 hours of light, increasing or not it's still thinks it's fall by how many hours it's getting, you can't show me a grower who can veg a photo on 13hours of light.

Very interesting. I grow autos outdoor with photos and have done for year's and never had this problem. I am not saying it cant happen though. lots of factors can and do cause premature flowering. You have ethylene for example. These are produced in low levels in cannabis as a rule and can not only produce early cropping but hidden hermaphrodite tendencies. Theirs also chemicals that are made in the roots and by root restriction can reducing vegetative period. Then you have the native plants pumping gasses out all over that can effect your plants flowering. Bracon for example produces a growth slowing hormone that stunts plants around it and force's premature flowering as a survival response. I believe the gene responsible for photo sensitivity is Flowering Locus T. It produces hormones based on the photosynthesis cycle of the plant so the actual photo sensitivity is 100% genetic not hormone based that as I said does not mean environment doesn't play a role because it certainly does.
