hi folks
I have 2 car garage I'm keeping heated over cold canadian winters with my grow tent setup inside. starting a mandarine cream auto run soon. any concerns with putting the humidifier directly in the tent. will mist be a concern for the light safety or moisture landing on plants cause issues? its small tent 4x2x5. thx

I'm running a 1gal humidifier in my 2x2 tent and I don't have any issue at all. It has a humidistat on it so it stops by itself when it reaches a certain amount of humidity, this might be the best way to do it. I also put a fan not directly at it but close to make the mist go away from the LED, not sure if that changes anything but it works for me. I wouldn't think it would be a problem unless you run a super high amount of humidity in the tent like 80+

It really depends on your temps. If you can keep the tent warm 75 to 80° F it shouldn't be an issue. If your temps are too low it could cause too much humidity for air temp and you would end up with condensation inside your tent. Look at this VPD chart and thats a good reference for ideal temp/humidity.

I have my humidifier inside my small 2x2 tent as well. I think a lot will depend on the type of humidifier. The ultrasonics can really add a lot of moisture and cause condensation. They will continue to push water vapor into the air even once saturated. An evaporative one, bucket and fan design, cannot physically add more moisture than the air can hold. Pretty safe way to limit humidity if you don't have a controller for it.

EDIT: Obviously you can get way too high RH with either one but the evaporative is more limited.

is there a humidity brand you suggest?

@Outdoor_Auto_Canada (OAC) Go with the Taotronics TT-AH001, super cheap and works like a charm, it's the one I have. Just the fact that it has a humidistat is awesome at this price point

I have a honeywell hcm-710

Its an evaporative unit and the thing i really liked about it is the ability to pour water in from the top to fill it. You don't have to remove a tank and flip it upside down. It's really simple. I'm an old man and I don't want to carry tanks of water up and down stairs. Just a watering can in the top every few days. It does have a "wick" inside that has to be replaced occasionally. The new style replacement filter/wicks have antimicrobial inhibitors. The one it came with gets a little gross but it has lasted a couple months so far without issue.

The entire gray top lifts off so if you need to clean it, very open and easy design.

this chart rules. thx

I've bought over a dozen different humidifiers of many different brands.
Ultrasonic top fill is by far the best.
This type can be run at low speed if not much humidity is needed.
I blow fog in thru upper tent portholes, with a fan behind humidifier(s) to blow and disperse fog into a tent.
I use two per tent in 2 x 4 and 3 x 3 tents in winter to keep humidity in the 60s from seed to harvest, while following the VPD chart.
