Hydroguard will not kill algae it out competes the microbes that cause root rot a different organism. If you can lift your plant onto a different container while you clean and disinfect the res then refill and replace the plant. Then block the light from getting into the reservoir. Glue aluminum foil to one side of some Styrofoam and then place Styrofoam side up, The white color reflects the light evenly. If you place foil side up you can burn the underside of the leaves.

So the filmy stuff will die off in the new res as long as the light is deprived and I won't need h2o2 to kill it? Or should I h2o2 the current res first, and start fresh in the new res?

The net pot fits a bucket nicely so I can pull her out while I swap/clean the res out.

It will die off without light but without cleaning the res container well what remains behind will decompose and cause an organic load on the res. It will not kill it but why not have it right to begin with?

Unless you run a "Sterile Grow" which requires different nutrients all together. Do not use H202 in anything that touches the plant.

Unless you are adding organics to the reservoir keeping the light out will prevent a bio-film from forming in 10 days. 10 days is the limit between reservoir changes and I recommend and use 7 days as a maximum. I add organics the day before a res change. So the plant gets 24 hours with it in the res and whatever sticks to the roots during the change.

So I re did the blog, and updated the next page.

Scrapped the 27gal tote idea, and back to the buckets we go. Didn't know what to do with my mothers so I tossed them in the closet to flower and dragged Chemdawg #2 back to the veg tent.

I think I'm getting the blog thing right, I ended up deleting the whole thing instead of a page last time, but it's remade and updated now.
