Indoor Hps/mh?

Hi people.

I'm a total newbee, with not even one grow under my belt.
I've studied all the theory regarding autos before growing but i'm still puzzled with a question regarding MH/HPS that even after heavily googling i am still unable to solve.
Recently joined AFN and i'm planning an mi5/big bang auto grow. Bit puzzled that some growers swear by using only MH in the last two weeks of flowering, and some swear by using both HPS and MH in this final flowering stage? My question is this, is it because different autos require different combinations in this MH/HPS or only MH or are there two different camps of lights opinion on getting the best out of ones plants in this final stage?

Imo i don't think it matters to much iv used Hps all way through with great results, and iv also used Mh first 4 weeks and then switched to hps with great results! You could just get a duel spectrum bulb for peace of mind! hope this gibberish has helped and good luck with your garden! :smoke:

If it helps any...I start and grow all my autos under T5HO for 4-5 weeks...then move to a hps tent system to complete the life cycle. Never used MH so no input there....but I do think higher wattage anything may be a bit harsh for seedlings....

I'm beginning to realise that it's different strokes/lights for different folks so i will just happily experiment with all the systems until after a few grows i know what i like.

As i've said to GoTgReEN i'm just gonna experiment with all and everything to do with lights until i have a few grows under my belt and happily by then i will know what works for me and my grows.
