Hi everyone. Just a couple questions. The last 4 plants I've attempted to grow using a 400w HPS bulb with magnetic ballast have been terrible. Tons of stretch, skinny spaced out buds, and the leaves don't look healthy after a couple weeks into flowering. The first 6 plants were great. Only two things have changed.
On my ballast is a switch for MH and HPS. I think I accidentally had it set to MH instead of HPS. Also, I changed the bulb after switching it to HPS on the ballast. Since then my plants have been absolutely trash. Nothing else changed in my care.
So my question is this: Could it be that I switched the MH/HPS switch, and why would that matter? What does that switch actually do?
And is it possible that since I bought a cheap HPS bulb that's the problem? I can imagine I just had beginners luck the first 4 grows.
Thanks y'all
