Indoor How to get involvement with threads? Very fustrating.

As it says...it seems whenever I create a thread/grow diary, involvement from the AFN community is minimal, I'm forever bumping with no effect.

Are my threads invisible to most of you? Am I writing too much/too much detail? Am I not explaining myself? Are my plants not good enough? Just curious because when I see most threads and grow diaries with lots of involvement, it gets me a bit confused, because I never get any.

If I don't get any good involvement by the time this grow is up I don't think I'll do any more diaries as it's a waste of time when no one gets involved

Not having a moan, I want to engage with the community and maximize the AFN but I can't if no one bothers stopping by, only so long you can talk to yourself on your own thread!

Ok, first off i just took a look at the thread and there are 3 pages on it. To me that seems that you are getting involvement. There is something that i want you to remember here. There are basically two different kinds of traffic, one where your grow in going good, you update like you should and then move on. Then there is the type where a person is asking for help in the thread and people will come in and take a look and help if there are plant problems.

A lot of it also comes back to the way you carry yourself on here, when people see threads like this they tend to shy away from the user. Im not saying that they do it on purpose but no one likes to read some one whine. Especially if you come in and mention another forum. We dont care that there are other autoflower websites out there as that is going to happen but this community isnt going to hold your hand either. most of us have had a time or two where we get no activity either. I have a main thread that i do all my breeding in and no one has posted in there for weeks. It happens to us all man just be patient and people will talk.

Most of the admin staff have day jobs and i am sure that most of the other members that you see post a lot do as well. It unrealistic to think that we can sit here and watch every thread and give everyone attention that they think they deserve. give it time, and also take a look at the thread about generating traffic in your thread. There are some good tips in that thread.

Keep doing what you are doing in your thread and they will come. The grow seems to be going good, so there may not be tons of posts. Seems to me that you are not seeing enough of "Great Job!" posts and that bothers you. Just be patient keep growing like you are and it will come.

If someone drops by my thread and comments i make a point to follow theirs too- if i remember, its hard to keep track sometimes. I get a decent amount of traffic but some updates just go unnoticed on a site this big.
Just keep ploughing on. Drop by live stoners and a few other growers journals and before you know it you'll feel like part of the community!
Also get a nice avatar- the little milk carton from blurs coffee and tv music video would look pretty cool!

some people see it certainly. but like FD said, I have had the problem too from time to time. but people look. start asking questions about whatever it is you want to know and discuss with someone and either tag that person of just say hey ,man. wuuuz up, whatcha think bout me wee meezer LOL! ya know,stuff like that. and early on in grows untill flowers and frost really pop around, even my threads dont get lots of action.until the flowers are popping up n out LOL

Feeling you on this one, its a good thing that this site has so many threads and i'd rather wait for traffic and just look whats poppin. SInce i entered here my knowledge has doubled and i spend many hours and nights here just reading. It is a blessing, so the downside is it is like @Eyes on Fire already said sometimes hard to keep up with all the action. And sometimes questions stay unanswered. Just keep going.

Something else I want you to understand. You're new here and have few grows in our world under your belt. I'm sure that you've seen threads where the first post after the main one is someone subbing to the thread. There is a reason for that. Most of the time if not all of the time the reason people gets subs is because they have several if not hundreds of grows here and are active in the community. People that have been posting for years grow after grow. People have seen them and know their name. Once you get a few grows under your belt things will change. Not saying we don't care we're just watching with a careful eye is all. We're trying to feel you out just as you are with us. Once people see you growing time after time you'll see the same thing. Don't get discouraged just be patient and it'll happen.

Always remember we are a rather large canna site with TONS of info and traffic per day so we'll get to you. I think the reason you see activity at portal is because they are small compared to what's going on here. We're often imitated but never duplicated.

I can feel your frustrations @milkmann, I am fairly new to this site and growing in general. Like others have said, the more you put yourself out there on other growers, it will really just spread from there.
I will check out your grow. Also the title of the thread can lead to more traffic. My advice from someone that is in your shoes about visitors, is to give it time and to also put yourself out there and start talking to others on their threads.

Welcome to my world. You gotta just involve yourself, you can't worry about post counts, etc. I been her four years and have less posts than some who joined in March. You have to make yourself valuable. Find the missing niche, and fill it. Show genuine interest, and be yourself. Eventually you will have a following.
