Hi, I am very new to the Autoflower and breeding scene period. I am wondering what the best way to go about finding a recessive male or how to breed and pull the qualities from a plant I can only get in Femenized. Sorry if there is already a thread that is similar to this.

But yeah. I have Femenized auto seeds but want to make more of them, preferably regular.

You can only make female plants from a pollen collected from female plant converted to produce male flowers. Thats how feminized seeds are made. So you will need a true male from non fem seeds if you want non fem seeds. If you just want more seeds its easiest to make and grow fem seeds, so you can simply spray colloidal silver(or other doing same thing) on just one branch when its just starting to show flowers. That one stem only will make male flowers instead of female and it will pollinate itself. This results in feminized seeds that are a lot like its mother. You can also naturally use this pollen on other plants as well and you get fem seeds that are naturally a cross between the two plants.

If you want to kick off a proper breeding process with tons of plants growing several generations, then getting a true male and making non fem seeds might be a good idea.

That makes a lot more sense, I appreciate the help! but if I want a 24k Autoflower and can only find 24k in Femenized auto, what would you suggest I do?

Choice one, reverse 1 24k and pollinate another. All seeds will be feminized.

Choice two Find a suitable male from another auto strain. Cross, cross the f1 to another 24k, take those f1s and cross to another 24k
Called cubing. You can be within 95% in about 6 generations.

If you have to means to do that, i highly recommend it! It will take time and you might get non af plants quite long in the line and if you backcross to that auto, it will take time and a lot of selective breeding to stabilize back to having stronger af, but still show those non af genetic characteristics. Its ofc easier if you can find some auto that is already close to the photo plant you want to use. There are so many autoflowers to choose from nowadays. I have grown low ryder #1 x photo plants back in the days, because that was pretty much the only autoflowering strain.. I recently popped a old seed with low ryder 1, northern lights, matanuska tundra and this semi landrace northern early (mostly)sativa genes. Sadly it doesent seem to start flowering properly despite showing preflowers since few weeks, or then its just extremely slow to start budding and wants to grow into a real sativa monster..
